MEDICAID

THERE’S A NEW MEDICAID PROGRAM AND YOU MAY BE ELIGIBLE FOR IT!

The health reform law now allows Medicaid to cover every age, both men and women, even peoplewho are healthy! Medicaid used to be only for pregnant women, children, people with disabilities and the elderly. Now your income is the only thing used to qualify for Medicaid.

MEDICAID HAS SPECIAL PROTECTIONS FOR AMERICAN INDIANS AND ALASKA NATIVES.

Applying for Medicaid is simple now. Just go to your Tribal or IHS clinic and ask for help. A computer website for the Health Insurance Marketplace will determine your eligibility for Medicaid quickly and enroll you right away.

You can continue to get your health care at your local Tribal or IHS clinic when you are enrolled in Medicaid.

If you enroll in Medicaid, you also will be able to get health care that is not available at your Tribal or Indian Health Service clinic.

IF YOUR STATE DOES NOT HAVE A MEDICAID EXPANSION PROGRAM, YOU MAY STILL BE ELIGIBLE FOR A FREE OR LOW COST HEALTH INSURANCE MARKETPLACE PLAN.

When you fill out an application through the Marketplace you will find out whether you qualify for Medicaid, CHIP or tax credits to pay for insurance.
